Get .nfo Structure to work with movienow!

Fri Feb 07, 2020 12:43 am

Greetings,

its me again :p

I'am one of the persons who use local posters and nfo files to store the information (multiple reasons for this*) and I don't want to change that at the moment.

It came in my mind that in the Kodi Webinterface you can see the poster even if you store your information in nfo/jpg.

So I looked a little deeper in to this and found the JSON functions (I would say MovieNow is also based on JSON?) So there hase to be a way to show the poster.

If you send following to Kodi:

Code: Select all

{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":11,"method":"VideoLibrary.GetMovies","params":{"properties":["art"],"limits":{"end":1},"sort":{"method":"random"}}}
you will get something like this:

Code: Select all

{
    "id": 11,
    "jsonrpc": "2.0",
    "result": {
        "limits": {
            "end": 1,
            "start": 0,
            "total": 653
        },
        "movies": [
            {
                "art": {
                    "fanart": "image://nfs%3a%2f%2f192.168.1.5%2fvolume1%2fFilme%2fJurassic%20Park%20(1993)%2ffanart.jpg/",
                    "poster": "image://nfs%3a%2f%2f192.168.1.5%2fvolume1%2fFilme%2fJurassic%20Park%20(1993)%2fJurassic%20Park%20(1993)%201080p%20DTS-poster.jpg/",
                },
                "label": "Jurassic Park",
                "movieid": 352
            }
        ]
    }
}
So there is a path to the posterfile (and also the fanart) on my NAS. And this is my nfs mount path in Kodi. Now we have to find a way that finds the correct "id" for the actual playing poster.
Maybe 0raid already knows a way to find this "id" from current playing movie?

Can we use this to make nfo file structure to work with this wonderful application?!

* My firetv stick has limited space for the "databasefile", I want to select german movieposters (or special posters)

Does this mean i can use TinyMediaManager again and select my own posters, instead of the ones KODI finds by itself?
